Family Support
Family Support at Arts for Life Project
Family life is beautiful. And sometimes it is really, really hard.
When your child/ren struggle, with their emotions, their behaviour, their sense of self, the impact ripples through the whole family. Communication breaks down. Siblings clash. Parents feel exhausted, isolated, and unsure where to turn. You love your family deeply, and yet some days it can feel like you are all pulling in different directions.
This is where our Family Support comes in
At Arts for Life, we believe that when a child thrives, the whole family can breathe more easily. And when a family finds its way back to connection, children flourish. That is why we offer dedicated support not just for your young person, but for the people around them to.
Sibling Support
Sibling rivalry can be one of the most exhausting and misunderstood challenges in family life. When one child has additional needs, the dynamics can become particularly complex. We work with siblings to help them understand one another, feel heard in their own right, and build relationships that are kinder, calmer and more connected.
Parent & Carer Sessions
You can't pour from an empty cup. Our parent and carer sessions are a space just for you, to be supported, to ask questions, to make sense of what is happening at home, and to find strategies that actually work for your family. You do not need to have all the answers. You just need to show up, and we will work through it together.
Create & Chat
Create & Chat is a group session, designed especially for our parents and carers. It is a chance to step inside our world, to experience first-hand the kinds of creative activities your children engage in every week, and to understand a little more deeply why this work matters so much.
Together we have made the most beautiful things. Pottery on the wheel, glass fusing, watercolour painting, canvas work and so much more. There is something quite extraordinary about sitting alongside other parents, hands in clay or brush in hand, and feeling, perhaps for the first time in a long time, like you are doing something just for you.
Because that is the heart of Create & Chat. Yes, you will leave with a greater understanding of how we work and why the creative process is so powerful for your child. But you will also leave having laughed, connected with other people who truly get it, and spent an evening in good company.
Parenting a child with additional needs can be lonely. Create & Chat is our way of saying, you are not alone, you are seen.
Family support at Arts for Life Project is offered in a spirit of openness, warmth and zero judgement. If any of this resonates with you, we would love to hear from you.
