This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, and what choices you have. 

Who we are

Arts for Life Project ("AFLP", "we", "us") is a registered charity supporting young people aged 8 to 24 and their families through the creative arts.

This policy covers our website only. If you or your young person take part in our services, we will give you separate information about how we look after that data.

Information we collect through this website

When you use our contact form, we collect your first name, last name, email address, phone number, and your message.

We use this only to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to help you with a referral, volunteering, a partnership or support for your family. We will not add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.

 

Our legal reason for using this information is that it is in our legitimate interests to respond to people who contact us.

 

When you browse our website, some basic technical information is collected automatically through cookies. See the cookies section below.

Young people

If you are under 13, please ask a parent or carer to contact us for you, or to help you fill in the form.

Who can see your information

Only AFLP staff who need to respond to your enquiry.

 

Our website is hosted by Wix, which stores contact form messages on our behalf. Wix is only allowed to use this information to provide its service to us.

 

We never sell your information, and we will not share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to, or we need to in order to keep a child or adult safe, in line with our Safeguarding Policy.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form enquiries for up to [12 months] after our last contact with you, then delete them. If your enquiry leads to you or your young person using our services, we will explain how we look after that information separately.

 

Your rights

You have the right to:

 

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you

  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong

  • ask us to delete your information

  • object to us using your information

 

To do any of these, email us at lucy@artsforlifeproject.org. We will respond within one month.

 

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a website places on your phone or computer.

 

Essential cookies (always on). Our website is built on Wix, which uses a small number of cookies to make the site load, keep it secure and remember your cookie choices. The site cannot work properly without them, so they cannot be switched off.

 

The essential cookies Wix may set are:

 

  • XSRF-TOKEN: security, stops fraudulent requests. Lasts until you close your browser.

  • hs: security. Lasts until you close your browser.

  • svSession: security, stability and core site function. Lasts 12 months.

  • server-session-bind and client-session-bind: protect the site's systems. Last until you close your browser.

  • wixSession: security, stability and core site function. Lasts 12 months.

  • sec-fetch-unsupported: notes if your browser can't support some security features. Lasts until you close your browser.

  • consent-policy: remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask you on every visit. Lasts 12 months

 

Optional cookies. We do not currently use any optional cookies, such as analytics or advertising cookies. Our cookie banner is there so that if we ever add something that needs your permission, such as an embedded map, it will not load unless you say yes.

 

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use cookies to track you across other websites.

 

Our homepage shows recent posts from our Instagram account. The images are loaded from Instagram's servers.

 

Changing your choice. You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings.

 

Links to other websites

Our Donate button takes you to JustGiving, and our social media links take you to Facebook and Instagram. Once you leave our website, those sites' own privacy and cookie policies apply.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
